Alpha Alpha Delta Chapter Membership

Philosophy of Membership Eligibility

Sigma Theta Tau International Society membership is by invitation to baccalaureate nursing students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship and to nurse leaders exhibiting exceptional achievements in nursing. Sigma Theta Tau encompasses more than 150 chapters located at colleges and universities throughout the world. Lakeview College of Nursing is home to the Alpha Alpha Delta Sigma chapter.

Membership Invitation 

Membership in the LCN chapter of Alpha Alpha Delta Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society is by invitation to baccalaureate students and nurse leaders who demonstrate excellence in scholarship.

Students who have completed at least one-half of the nursing curriculum, ranked upper 35% of their class, have a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, and no unprofessional or student code of conduct issues may be inducted in the Honor Society. Candidates for membership are reviewed biannually.

Nurse leaders must be a registered nurse and legally recognized in their country, have a minimum of a baccalaureate degree or equivalent in any field, have demonstrated achievement in nursing in one of the following areas: Scholarship, leadership, and service. Nurse leader applicants are to submit a current curriculum vitae (CV), biosketch, or resume with a 250-1000-word narrative explaining their achievement in nursing.

Invitations are extended to all BSN students and nurse leaders who meet Sigma Theta Tau International’s membership criteria. An induction ceremony is held each spring and fall for all new members.
